Ebisubashi Bridge in Osaka. Best food in Osaka in the area |
Late bloomage is kind of like my modus operandi. I didn't have my first boyfriend until I was 19, I didn't start traveling seriously until my late 20's, and I didn't install the mother of all photo app's until about three weeks ago while in Japan. Better late than never, I reckon.
After a few minutes of playing, I was in love. Instagram and it's broad selection of filters transformed my dodgy smartphone pictures into quirky pieces of art. Since I was able to stay connected with my econnect Pocket Wifi, I was uploading like gang busters, sharing my impressions in real time with members of my social networks. Here is a selection of my favorite shots, all taken with my Iphone and revamped a bit with Instagram.
My first Japanese toilet experience, luckily this one had buttons in English but I still had no idea what was going on |
One of the first train tickets I bought with no help. Isn't it cute. |
A very sobering moment. The first time I saw seperate train cars to protect women from being violated during rush hour |
That's fried chicken cartilage, it was goood (said in my Rudy Huxtable voice) |
The first time I tried on a yukata and realized they provide no ass allowance |
Strange bunny things all over the place. |
Creations from my Kyoto cooking class |
The first time in 9 years it had snowed like that in Kamakura. |
Boutique Luxury at Hotel Mume in Kyoto |
The busiest intersection in the world at Shibuya Station, Tokyo |
Rain can't stop these commited consumers. |
Window shopping |
Green Tea Kit Kat. Interesting |
Looking at my Instagram photos from my Japan trip make me want to research flights to Osaka so I can go back and witness the cherry blossoms in spring. SIGH! One day, I'll be back.

Love Instagram and it's amazing how good of photos you can get with it. I was recently introduced to the app Camera+ and that combined with Instagram's effects are so much fun to play with.
ReplyDeleteWell you've convinced me to start using Instagram now. I've heard lots of raves but these pix are amazing. And that toilet was mind boggling!
ReplyDeletei LOVE UR PICS. SERIOUSLY, IT REALLY TELL THE STORY LIKE THOSE OLD GOOD MOVIES. WE CAN FEEL THE EMOTIONS BEHIND THE PICTURES. GOOD SELECTIONS !
