If you ever come visit me and aren't allergic to shell fish I will take you to Nu Restaurant in the Savingnyplatz area of Berlin. Nu Restaurant, whose tag line is "Eat, Drink, Man, Woman" is a asian fusion restaurant mostly focused on Thai Cuisine. They do offer plenty of dishes that don't contain shellfish but with guest I tend to share the Nu Special, which is a menu for two. The menu includes 2 kilos of huge shrimp with sides of rice, noodles, asian vegatables AND dipping sauces. It is delicious. I can show you better than I can tell so, so take a look at this:
Not only are the ingredients fresh, the ambience is quite pleasant. The restaurant features cafeteria style seating, where you are likely to sit next to someone you do not know unless you get a smaller table for two. There are pillar-like light fixtures that cycle through colors and depending on the mood of the bartender the music can either be a youtube complication of old school hip hop or trendy trance music. Most of the staff speak perfect English which is something that should not be taken for granted here in Berlin. Cocktails tend to be on the expensive side but they are generous portions and well made. There is also a great assortment of teas, the chai tea being my personal favorite. If you have a bit of sweet tooth, you can totally skip dinner and drinks and head there strickly for the dessert for 2, which features brownie with mascerpone, pineapple covered in white and bittersweet chocolate, friend banana covered in vanilla ice cream and caramalized nuts. Perhaps a visual aid is needed again:
Told ya! Nu Restaurant is located at Schlüterstraße 55 10629 Berlin. Right near the Savingny Platz S-bahn station or a short walk from Wilmersdorfer Str U-bahn
